PLEASE NOTE: At full power a Cooler King 750-watt eBike does NOT meet SA road regulations set out by the government*.
However, one click into LGL mode restricts the top speed of the bike to 25kph/ 18mph and restricts the power to the motor to 250-watt, electronically detuning the motor to meet road regulations.
One click again on the console when you are off-road and you’re back to full power again.
*According to regulations set out by the South African government, a licence for an electric bicycle is not required, as long as it weighs less than 40kg, and does not exceed a continuous 250W power level, as well as having pedals as the main means of propulsion.
